WEEK 5: Begins Monday August 22

What's happening with your dragon this week:
In terms of growth, not too much - the staff will still be stressing that it's just as important to keep oiling now that they're now growing as visibly.

What's happening in class this week:

1. Hunting outside the weyr: try and tee up a rider (and rider will do) and they'll take you outside the weyr, teach you some good local hunting spots, and your dragon will learn a bit about how to catch
prey when they're not neatly penned up for them. So yes, this means you can leave the weyr, but only accompanied by a graduated rider.

2. Elevator duty: Now you guys are flying on your own, you'll be on duty now and again in the clearing, giving children and weyrfolk lifts to the ledges they need to get to. It's a great way for young dragons and new riders to familiarise themselves with thermals.

3. Next week you'll be getting weyrs of your own, so start scouting about for places that you might like to live.

RP ideas for this week:
1. Track down a rider for a hunting session. Ask any rider, but remember that they may not have taught this to anyone before. Explain exactly what you want, and someone may be willing to oblige. The lesson would involve flying over the Xanadu area together (no betweening), having a few favourite hunting spots pointed out, discussing techniques for your dragon in catching prey that want to hide under trees, a talk on how important it is not to eat anything that belongs to anyone, and so on.

2. Elevator duty! Hang around in the clearing, chat, take folks places.

3. As always, exercise! Just because your dragons get to lounge around between flights doesn't mean you've stopped running those circuits.

4. Scout around for places you'd like to live, collect old furniture and hangings from the supply caverns, get ready to set up home!
