The mature graduated dragons at High Reaches Weyr are 2 Emeralds, 3 Aquamarines, 2 Heliodors, 5 Bronzes, 2 Goshenites, 4 Browns, 2 Bixbites, 10 Blues, 17 Greens, and 1 Topazes.
High Reaches Weyr lies in a volcanic caldera high in the mountains. It is one of the last Weyr made with the original technology and actually has thermal baths for the Weyrleader's weyr and the queens' weyrs. Everyone else has normal piping. The Bowl is a round circle, much like most Weyrs, but is most unique in that on the northern rim there are seven high, crownlike points called the Seven Spindles. They were formed turns past when there was still volcanic flow. The Hatching Sands are in a wide, high, oval cavern at the northernmost edge of the Bowl next to the queen's weyrs. The pens are on the western edge, and the lake fills up most of the middle. Around the edges are rocks, sand, and a few sparse groves of trees and plants that the riders have let grow. At the sothern rim are the Weyrling Heights, high up and away from the rest of the Weyr so that their emotional outbursts don't hit the rest of the Weyr very often. Beyond it is the mountains, and High Reaches Hold, also high in the mountains and cold and bleak. A highly skilled Weavercrafthall looks to High Reaches Hold, and the Hold is second only to Tillek in shipbuilding.*
